Discover how Strive brought one of the longest-standing estate agents in Essex with a 50+ year history into the 21st century with a consultative approach to brand development.


the brief

Fisks is a trusted and well-established estate agent based in Essex with a proud and illustrious history. But they felt they were failing to attract a new, younger audience — particularly people who weren’t local to the area and aware of the brand.

Anyone familiar with Fisks understood the experience and value the company offered. But their current branding made them look a little outdated and old-fashioned in what is a very competitive local market. Unfortunately, people do judge a book by its cover, but in this case, they couldn’t be further from the truth. That’s why they needed a marketing agency like Strive. To take them on a journey through the brand development process to create a strategy and approach that would reflect Fisks' true values as a modern, vibrant, friendly and knowledgeable estate agent that has a history of delivering exemplary sales and lettings to the residents of Benfleet, Canvey and beyond.


our approach

Our brand development process starts with an in-house workshop during which we work with the client to understand their pain points and explore potential solutions.

After the meeting, it was agreed that our first task would be to update the company logo. It didn’t need much, just a little refinement to modernise the look and feel. We retained the green — this had remained consistent throughout the brand's history — and introduced a complimentary colour palette of dark grey, vibrant pinks and pastel blues.

Next, we reframed the brand messaging in a way that incorporated the company’s values and history without feeling stale or stilted. Not many estate agents have a rich history, so it was important to highlight it. We did this by taking a quote from the Fisks founder, John Fisk and repurposing them as the estate agent company values.

The focus, however, was on the customer experience. Everything centred on the employees and the service they delivered. The tagline (Move with a smile) underscored the exceptional experience clients could expect. We backed this up with social proof (Feefo ratings are included on all collateral) and added friendly, approachable photos of the staff to business cards, brochures and sales boards including personalised contact details so you can always make that personal connection.

The new logo, colour palette and messaging have been applied to all of Fisks' core sales collateral, including sales and lettings brochures, business cards, property boards, social channels and advertising campaigns.

Fisks were delighted with their new, modern brand, and the redesigned sales collateral has helped their agents stand out from the crowd.

While we started with the logo and core sale collateral, the new brand is continuing to be rolled out across all of the company’s assets, including vehicle graphics, interior and exterior signage, the company magazine, digital templates for email and social media and more.

This project also marked the start of a fruitful partnership between Strive and Fisks. We continue to create marketing collateral and provide the ongoing marketing strategy to Fisks alongside developing brands, websites and marketing campaigns for new property developments for which they are the sole agents.
